The Role of Dementia Institute

Dementia Institute was created to expand access to the necessary training, care, and support it takes to navigate caring for persons with dementia or live with it yourself. By enhancing understanding, awareness, and communication, we can help those living with dementia and the community that surrounds them overcome challenges and find the support they need to thrive.

Our Mission

In fulfilling God’s calling to serve others, we will: Serve with love and compassion, commit to excellence, and follow Christ’s teachings and example in all we do.

Our Mission

Our Vision

To be the leader in delivering accessible world-class care solutions that advance the wellbeing of persons living with dementia and all those who provide their care.

Our Vision

Our Background

The Dementia Institute was born out of the knowledge, awareness, and compassion gained over 30+ years of caring for dementia residents at our partner organization, Holland Home in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Holland Home was the fifth nationally and the first in the state to be a Positive Approach to Care® -designated organization. We also partner with several other organizations, utilizing their expertise in the areas of home care, senior living, and community-based care to meet the varying needs of those living with dementia.

We’re just getting started.

The Dementia Institute launched in the fall of 2023. As we grow our organization, we look forward to expanding our services, reach, and impact throughout and beyond our West Michigan community. Sign up for continued updates and announcements as we embark on this exciting journey of improving the lives of persons with dementia and their loved ones.

Our Leadership

Their passion, commitment, and dedication to improving the lives of those affected by dementia is the reason we are here today.
